How long does a custom range hood take?

Every hood is made to order in our Mexico City atelier. Production takes 9 to 12 weeks from the moment your drawings are approved, plus transit. Rush production is sometimes possible.

What size range hood do I need?

Your hood should be at least as wide as your cooking surface. For a wall installation, 3 inches wider on each side captures better; for an island, allow 6 inches on each side. Because every hood is built to your measurements, you are not choosing from fixed sizes.

Can the range hood be ductless?

Yes. We supply recirculating configurations with charcoal filtration where external venting is not possible. Where the building allows it, ducted always performs better.

What CFM should I specify?

Professional ranges generally call for 900 to 1200 CFM. Our hoods are built to accept high-CFM liners, and we will specify the liner alongside the hood if you tell us the range model you are installing.

Will the finish change over time?

Natural copper and brass develop a patina over time, which is intentional. A protective lacquer can be applied to hold the appearance stable. Blackened steel, stainless steel and lacquered finishes stay visually stable.

What is the difference between blackened steel and a black lacquer?

Blackened steel is a chemical treatment of the metal itself, so the colour is in the surface rather than on it. A black lacquer is a pigmented coating applied over solid brass or steel, giving a deeper, more uniform black. Both are solid metal underneath.

Do you work with architects and interior designers?

Yes. We provide CAD drawings for coordination, production photography during manufacture, and trade pricing through the Amoretti Brothers Trade Partner Program.

Each is built to the dimensions of your range and the height of your ceiling, in solid copper, brass or blackened steel. Over forty patinas and finishes, developed and applied in our own workshop rather than bought in.
Nothing leaves until the drawing you approved is the object in front of us.
